Scott Murphy, P.Eng.|Manager of Engineering

Scott Murphy is a senior level Professional Engineer with over 30 years of structural engineering and project management experience for large building and bridge projects. Scott has designed new major bridge structures, designed and managed projects of bridge and building rehabilitation and strengthening, and has conducted numerous forensic inspections of buildings and bridges damaged by fire and impact. He has worked on the design of steel and concrete institutional, industrial, commercial, and residential buildings, and has designed wood and steel framed buildings. Scott has experience in the preparation of detailed engineering reports, drawings, and project cost estimates, and is the lead designer of the Strathcona County Community Centre Parkade explosion and fire remediation. Scott graduated from the University of Waterloo.

Dennis Friesen, CFEI, CVFI|Fire Investigation Manager

Dennis Friesen is a NFPA 1033 certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI & CVFI) with ten years’ experience in fire investigations. Dennis has assisted police forces, fire departments, and the insurance industry in determining the origin and cause on hundreds of fire losses. Over his career, he has served as a firefighter, fire inspector and a fire instructor at the Manitoba Emergency Services College. In 2014, he was awarded the Governor General of Canada exemplary fire service medal for recognition of 20 years of public service.

Wesley Hebert, C.E.T|Sr. Mechanical Technical Specialist

Wes Hebert an experienced Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) with over 18 years of multi-discipline engineering technology experience and has been directly involved in several engineering specific disciplines including mechanical, process (chemical), civil, structural and instrumentation.  Over that time, he has gained experience in project management, design, drafting, and procurement, along with holding related senior level managerial positions.  Wes is currently the Director of Operations of Precision Engineering Inc., a sister company to Precision Forensics Inc.

Albert Lee is a senior level Professional Engineer (Master of Science) with over 20 years of engineering and project management experience. Albert graduated from the University of Alberta in Chemical Engineering and earned his MSc in Environmental Science and Technology from the City University of Hong Kong.  Throughout his career, Albert has taken many supervisory roles where he was the lead Engineer on production facilities while also executing a variety of process engineering designs, installation, testing and commissioning work for de-bottlenecking projects. Albert has completed detailed engineering design for converting reforming plants from naphtha feedstock to natural gas. He has taken on many lead roles for different projects including that of pipelines and wellsites.

Karlie Lobreau is a junior mechanical engineer with 2 years of experience in oil and gas. Karlie graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering from the Co-Op program at the University of Alberta in Edmonton.

Karlie joined the Precision Forensics team in 2019 to provide support for vehicle-related investigations. Her strong theoretical background in dynamics from the U of A is expected to be an asset as her training progresses. Karlie currently holds an engineer-in-training (E.I.T.) membership with the Association of Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) and is approximately halfway towards satisfying the association experience requirements to obtain her P.Eng designation.

Richard Nordin is a junior structural engineer who graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Civil Engineering from the Co-Op program at the University of Alberta in Edmonton.

Richard joined the Precision Forensics team in 2019 to provide support for structural-related investigations.  Richard currently holds an engineer-in-training (E.I.T.) membership with the Association of Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
