Scott Murphy is a senior level Professional Engineer with over 30 years of structural engineering and project management experience for large building and bridge projects. Scott has designed new major bridge structures, designed and managed projects of bridge and building rehabilitation and strengthening, and has conducted numerous forensic inspections of buildings and bridges damaged by fire and impact. He has worked on the design of steel and concrete institutional, industrial, commercial, and residential buildings, and has designed wood and steel framed buildings. Scott has experience in the preparation of detailed engineering reports, drawings, and project cost estimates, and is the lead designer of the Strathcona County Community Centre Parkade explosion and fire remediation. Scott graduated from the University of Waterloo.


Dennis Friesen, CFEI, CVFI

Dennis Friesen, CFEI, CVFI|Fire Investigation Manager

Dennis Friesen is a NFPA 1033 certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI & CVFI) with ten years’ experience in fire investigations. Dennis has assisted police forces, fire departments, and the insurance industry in determining the origin and cause on hundreds of fire losses. Over his career, he has served as a firefighter, fire inspector and a fire instructor at the Manitoba Emergency Services College. In 2014, he was awarded the Governor General of Canada exemplary fire service medal for recognition of 20 years of public service.

Melissa Forde, B.A., H.S.A|Health and Safety Coordinator

Melissa is the Health and Safety Coordinator for Precision Forensics and is currently working on the A.C.S.A.’s C.O.R. certification for the company. Melissa has several years of experience in Health and Safety and recently completed her H.S.A. designation. Before that, she completed her Bachelor of Arts from Grant MacEwan University in 2010.

Jeff Tenove, P.Eng.|Structural Design & Forensic Engineer

Jeff Tenove received a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta in 2008 and has since worked in several different roles as a design engineer or a technical expert.  In 2015 he began work as a structural forensic engineer and has been involved in over 250 forensic cases investigating structural failures, fires, vehicle impacts to buildings, explosions, water damage and soil related claims.

Wes Hebert an experienced Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) with over 18 years of multi-discipline engineering technology experience and has been directly involved in several engineering specific disciplines including mechanical, process (chemical), civil, structural and instrumentation.  Over that time, he has gained experience in project management, design, drafting, and procurement, along with holding related senior level managerial positions.  Wes is currently the Director of Operations of Precision Engineering Inc., a sister company to Precision Forensics Inc.

Denis Robertson is an experienced technologist with over 55 years of multi-discipline engineering experience.  For the last 21 years, his main focus has been in forensic engineering investigation, analysis and production of reports, building restoration drawings and specifications for disaster affected structures, building and municipal services, several unique projects and new building development.  He uses his extensive and varied knowledge and experience to aid in assessing and advising on the company’s extremely diverse projects.

His depth of knowledge assists co-workers and clients with all facets of assigned projects from initial client contact, assessment of project requirements through to Municipal approvals and final client deliverables such as reports, scope of remedial repairs, restoration and new building drawings, construction inspections and substantial completion inspection acceptance.

Huw Davis is an experienced Engineer with a Master of Chemical Engineering Degree obtained from Curtain University in Australia. He obtained his Bachelor of Engineering degree (with Honors) in Mechatronic Engineering, and is a certified Oil and Gas Engineer.  Huw has experience in several project management roles including engineering, fabricating and procuring. He dedicates his time and efforts to ensure projects are getting completed on time and within budget, while also showing team leadership and maintaining an excellent team environment. Huw has developed creative and novel designs to overcome the challenges of small temporary pre-engineered structures. He also has experience in in computer 3D modelling and design, visualization and renderings.

Albert Lee is a senior level Professional Engineer (Master of Science) with over 20 years of engineering and project management experience. Albert graduated from the University of Alberta in Chemical Engineering and earned his MSc in Environmental Science and Technology from the City University of Hong Kong.  Throughout his career, Albert has taken many supervisory roles where he was the lead Engineer on production facilities while also executing a variety of process engineering designs, installation, testing and commissioning work for de-bottlenecking projects. Albert has completed detailed engineering design for converting reforming plants from naphtha feedstock to natural gas. He has taken on many lead roles for different projects including that of pipelines and wellsites.

Masud Hannan is an experienced Professional Engineer earning a Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering with a strong focus on Structural Engineering from Concordia University in Montreal. Masud has significant experience in developing Engineering calculation and design templates in Mathcad and Excel, performed structural analysis and design of various buildings and industrial structures using structural analysis and design softwires as well as manual calculations. He is experienced in various building codes, specifications, industry standards and regulatory requirements. He has supervised major construction projects in chemical process industries, housing complex, and conducted extensive field reviews.  He has completed structural evaluations and assessments of buildings, as well as modified and strengthened existing structures.

Karlie Lobreau is a junior mechanical engineer with 2 years of experience in oil and gas. Karlie graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering from the Co-Op program at the University of Alberta in Edmonton.

Karlie joined the Precision Forensics team in 2019 to provide support for vehicle-related investigations. Her strong theoretical background in dynamics from the U of A is expected to be an asset as her training progresses. Karlie currently holds an engineer-in-training (E.I.T.) membership with the Association of Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) and is approximately halfway towards satisfying the association experience requirements to obtain her P.Eng designation.

Jeff has his Chartered Accountant (CA) and Masters in Professional Accounting (MPAcc) designations  as well as over 10 years of experience in finance and accounting from his time at PwC as a Senior Manager in the assurance group.

Cheryl is the Human Resources Manager for Precision Forensics and brings over 18 years of experience and knowledge to the team.   She has worked in administrative and management roles in human resources, payroll, and accounting in the hotel, oil & gas, and engineering sectors.  She earned her Bachelor of Management degree from the University of Lethbridge in 2002.

When Cheryl is not hard at work at the office you will find her in Mexico on a beach or attending a sporting event.

Hannah joined the Precision Forensics team in November 2017 with 5 years of accounting and clerical experience. Hannah deals with many tasks around the office; lending her experience and assistance in all areas of the company from answering and responding to calls and emails, to preparing documents, coordinating deliverables, managing account payables and receivables, supporting budgeting and book keeping procedures, helping to coordinate health and safety, and helping out the team with whatever they need. Hannah is currently enrolled at Grant McEwan University majoring in Anthropology, and hopes to receive her Bachelor of Arts degree in the next year.
